Water Balloon Fight

We had a water balloon fight yesterday after the library visited. And by that I mean the adults and teen interns bombarded the kids with balloons before they could get to the ammunition.

Art Auction Prep

This past week, SON kids have been hard at work creating an amazing collection of art pieces. Creative, colorful and based on their own summer camp inspiration!

Good bye!!

We have been blessed this summer in having the Columbus State Nursing students come and play and teach the campers every Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. Friday was their last day with us for the summer. The campers had a great time playing tug of war and sadly said good bye to all of their new friends. Thank you for all your hard work and your friendship. 

Family and Friends Night!

On Wednesday, July 31st RELC will have a family and friends night. There will be a soccer and dodge ball game, a talent show, a Lemonade stand and an Art show. As a special bonus at the end of the night, there will be a special drawing for a winner to take home one of three prize boxes. There is an Art Box, A sports and dance box, and a baking box. The campers must be present to win so everyone come on down for a great night filled with fun. 

Ice Cream!!

On Thursday as a special treat the campers were able to make their very own ice cream. They got to see that something tasty and worth while came from very little ingredients. The ice cream was delicious and the kids had a blast.

Today was a busy day at the restaurant. There was a line out the door before they even opened up. It worked out really well, and I know that they’re going to do great next week when we have 50+ people.

Dancing!

Also on Wednesday we had a guest come in and teach some of the kids some dance moves. Of course it was mostly the girls who participated but it was still really amazing to see them dancing around!

Movement

On Wednesday this last week we had a group come and spend the day with the kids. They even had a short program that the kids (and adults) loved. They had some puppets among other things, and they had great energy that rubbed off onto the kids.

Wednesday  we had a special visit from the church youth group, Movemethey they brought with them a bounce house which, needless to say, our kids absolutely loved. We were so lucky to have them!

Blue Jackets!

We had a very special guest come to camp today. The Blue Jackets “Hockey on the Go” truck stopped at our site. The campers learned all about team work and the rules of hockey. The 3rd-5th graders split up into teams and had a super fun street hockey tournament. It was a day full of fun, teamwork, and hard work that ended with happy smiles.
