Exemplary Community Support – by ALL for ALL!

The Good Tidings Christmas store is a fantastic example of a community coming together to serve those less fortunate during this glorious season of Christ’s birth – joyfully serving and loving our neighbors in Christ’s name.

The Good Tidings Christmas store is a partnership between SON Ministries and Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church.  Oh, but so many more are involved!  Local churches, businesses and individuals gather and donate toys for children who might otherwise not have a gift on Christmas morning.  Parents make selections and pay 10% of retail cost, topped off with a stop at the gift wrapping station.  It feels like a celebration as families are welcomed, connections are made, and each person is treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.

The families represent many countries: American born, immigrants and refugees.  The volunteers represent many talents: a servant’s heart, inventory management, shopping on a budget, praying, organizing, baking, gift wrapping, customer service….and LOVING your neighbor.

This year a new layer of JOY was added as local musicians volunteer their time and talent to perform for families in the “hospitality area” while waiting their turn to shop.

My heart is full and I am thankful to be reminded that there is Goodness and Grace in this world.

At SON Ministries, we build up COMMUNITY one respectful, empowering relationship at a time.
